About The Artist

Gia Conti was born in 1980 in Rochester, New York.

Gia's artistic abilities became evident at a very young age when she began pencil sketching. She found her true talent when in high school she began to paint in watercolor. After Gia completed her first watercolor painting, it was submitted to the “Scholastic Art & Writing Awards". This resulted in her earning the prestigious "1998 Golden Key Award" for excellence in visual arts.

Gia is primarily a self taught artist. She generally uses a glazing method that results in very vivid colors. She shares her talents by teaching private & group classes in basic and advanced watercolor techniques.

Gia has a great love for nature and is in awe of all its creations. She is especially fond of natures "outcasts". They are generally creatures that most people consider ugly and repulsive. Gia hopes her art will help people to see the beauty in every species as she does. She believes that all living things hold an important place in this world and deserve to be respected and valued equally.
